Aunty Lou had one of the strongest minds I've ever encountered. Resilient, generous, and caring, she was a trailblazer who achieved so much at a time when such accomplishments were not readily accessible to women, especially women of colour. Despite her condition, she used her intellect to make the most of every situation. Not long before she passed, she communicated her comfort and enjoyment of retirement. I'll always remember her dedication to certain exercises to maintain her mobility and prevent further symptoms, and her wonderful sense of humour, like when she burst out laughing at someone (who shall remain unnamed) during a Christmas photo last year.
I'll miss you, Dr. C (Dr. Gak)
